The 26.7m Ambitious II is a prawn freezing trawler designed to fish the prawn fishing grounds around the coast of Ireland.
EK Marine Ltd designed, manufactured and installed the deck equipment and hydraulic control system working closely with the designer, Vestfaertet, the owners Niall and David Kirwin and the Builders Parkol Marine Ltd.
Project Detail
EK Marine Ltd designed and manufactured the deck equipment and specified the load sensing hydraulic control system and Scantol auto trawl system which was installed by Parkol Marine Ltd.
3 x EKM Split Trawl Winches, 16t line pull with timed guiding on, servo assisted hydraulically actuated fail safe brakes with drum capacities of 800 fathoms of 20mm wire.
2 x EKM Double Split Net Drums 4m3 capacity with 16 ton pull
2 x EKM Single Split Net Drums 4m3 capacity with 16 ton pull
1 x EKM 7.5 ton Gilson Winch mounted on the wheel house roof
1 x Knuckle boom tilting head power block crane capacity of 1.5t @ 7m, 360 degree slewing with deck mounted controls
1 x EKM Landing Crane 8m fixed boom lifting capacity of 1.5 ton @ 8m and capable of continuous slewing.
1 x EKM 2 ton Dragging winch capacity for 40m of 16mm rope.
1 x EKM 500 Kg Electric elevator winch
1 X EKM Hydraulically operated 125 KVa generator
