Donegal County Council New Crane for Inver Pier

EK Marine Ltd won a tender by Donegal County Council to supply a new crane for Inver Pier to service the fishing, aquaculture and leisure industries.

The cranes specification is:

Telescopic stiff boom marine crane with 2 section boom extended via hydraulic cylinder

Lifting capacity 2 tons @ 10m

Marine grade slew ring with 360 degree continuous slewing

2 ton hydraulic winch

Stainless steel pins, hydraulic rods, fittings and fixings

Manual controls on pedestal with secure cover

EKM specification coatings to crane and structure comprising

Shot blasting to SA2.5, metalising and painting with 2 pack marine epoxy paint

A hydraulic power pack powered by a 415v electric motor was supplied to power the cranes hydraulic system which was constructed with a weather proof  housing.

The crane was installed on a strengthend section of the pier with the power pack situated behind and  beneath the wavewall. The two were connected via hoses installed in a pre placed conduit.
