MFV Sparkling Star

The 20m Sparkling Star is a twin rigged trawler designed to fish exclusively in the waters off the West of Scotland.

EK Marine Ltd designed, manufactured and installed the deck equipment and hydraulic control system working closely with the designer, S C McAllister, the owner James Corbett and the Builders Parkol Marine Ltd

Project Detail

EK Marine Ltd designed and manufactured the deck equipment and specified the load sensing hydraulic control system which was installed by Parkol Marine Ltd.

EKM 3 Barrel Trawl Winch, 20t line pull with hydraulic guiding on, manually opertaed clutches and brakes with drum capacities of 750 fathoms of 20mm wire.

2 x EKM Double Split Net Drums 10t core pull.

1 x EKM 7.5 ton Gilson Winch mounted on the fore deck for catch handling.

1 x EKM Knuckle boom power block crane capacity of 1.4t @ 7.2m, 360 degree slewing with deck mounted controls

1 x 1.0t landing winch.
