EKM Crane Hire is a division of EK Marine Ltd established in 1999 with its head office in the port of Killybegs, County Donegal Ireland.

Initially we carried out lifts for our engineering customers. Demand for the cranes meant that we soon offered a stand alone lifting service. The company has amassed vast experience in planning and executing lifting operations for customers across all sectors of industry.

EK Marine Ltd has a program of continual investment in both our people and equipment, our fully trained staff are accredited to industry standards and under go constant personal development. We update and expand our fleet of modern cranes to keep up with our customers demands, they are maintained to the highest standards by our engineering department.

EKM Crane Hire can supply cranes from 25 tonne up to 220 tonne lifting capacity suitable for all lifting applications.

Our service is accredited to ISO 9001:2008 this means from the time of your initial enquiry through to the specifying of equipment and execution of the lifts your project will be managed to the highest standards.

All lifting operations need to be managed safely, we ensure that all aspects of each lift are assessed for risk and managed safely to ensure a safe and efficient service. Our operators and staff are CSCS qualified and our management are qualified to IOSH recognised standards. Our Engineering Department has in house CAD capabilities to provide detailed lift plans.

Lift & Shift

Our fleet of trucks and cranes together with our large secure storage facility means that we can provide a lift and shift service to our customers. For smaller items this can be provided by a single operator with one of our flat bed trucks equipped with its own telescopic crane. For larger loads we can arrange articulated trucks to be loaded on site by a suitably sized mobile crane and for them to be transported and unloaded at their destination in Ireland or overseas. Abnormal loads are catered for with all routes planned, permits obtained and escorts provided.

Cargo Handling & Services

EK Marine Ltd provide a full range of freight and cargo handling services to the shipping, offshore and renewable energy industries. In addition to our cranes and trucks we provide forklift trucks, loader and excavators all of which are operated by personnel trained and experienced in port and cargo handling operations. We can provide safe secure storage and follow on logistics.

Machinery Moves

We can carry out the removal, relocation and installation of large and complex industrial machinery utilising our fleet of cranes, trucks and inventory of specialist equipment.

Our site survey can include the recording of electrical and mechanical feeds to allow correct reinstatement in addition to assessing the parameters for removal. Removal by our trained and skilled staff of electrical and mechanical engineers is managed to guarantee safety and minimise disruption.

Upon removal the equipment is packaged and transported with all necessary electrical panels, pipework, gantry’s and walkways, using either our own trucks or those of our partners. Reinstallation of the equipment at the new site is complete once the equipment is commissioned.
