Aquaculture Crane Pontoon

Case Studies

Road Transportable Aquaculture Crane Pontoon

A salmon farm on the West coast of Ireland commissioned us to design and build a road transportable crane pontoon for use in the operations and maintenance of their facility located in the sheltered waters of a sea lough.

We designed a work barge that consists of two 12m steel pontoons joined by a steel mesh deck sat upon  steel beams with bolted connections. Each of the pontoons is outfitted with lifting eyes, cleats, and fendering. All steel work has been blasted, metalized and painted with 2 pack marine paint.

The barge is out fitted with a hydraulic folding telescopic knuckle boom crane secured to a foundation incorporated in the pontoons deck and a diesel hydraulic power pack in a silenced housing.
