We have been awarded the contract to design, manufacture and install the winches and deck crane for Niall Connollys new whitefish vessel the Patrick C which has been designed by Vestaerftet, Hvide Sande with the hull being built in Riga and finished at Mooney Boats. The hull will be delivered to Killybegs in June 2014 with a completion date set for December 2014. EK Marines scope of works consists of the design, manufacture and commissioning of the following:-

3 x EKM  Trawl Winches, 15t line pull with Level Wind and a drum capacity of 750 fathoms of 20mm wire

2 x EKM Double Split Net Drums  6m3 capacity with 11.5 ton pull

2 x EKM Gilson Winches 5 ton line pull each with drum capacity of 100m of 20mm wire

1 x EKM Landing Crane 8m fixed boom lifting capacity of 1 ton @ 8m and capable of 360 degree continuous slewing.

Hydraulic System to include a wheelhouse control system consisting of  2 speed directional control for the 5 winches and 2 net drums plus the vessels bow thruster.

Niall Connolly chose EK Marine as the standard specification of the winches to be supplied was superior to that of their competitors. He also has experience of the company’s products having purchased custom built net drums for his existing white fish vessel the Margaret Mary.
