EK Marine Ltd installed the hydraulic control systems, deck equipment and jacking systems on board the self propelled sister lift boats the Superior Influence and the Superior Respect on. All work carried out was certified to ABS and where required SOLAS.
The sister vessels are 265′ Class Self Propelled Lift Boats custom designed by their owners and operators Superior Energy to perform post well head and offshore construction tasks in up to 200′ (65m) of water. Depths normally only reachable by large offshore jack up rigs.
The EK Marine Ltd installation team carried out the work to both vessels in a 6 month period in the summer of 2008 at the Boconco Shipyard in La Batre, Alabama USA. The team was supported by the engineering and stores department in Killybegs who pre manufactured many of the hydraulic hoses, pipes and fittings in the companies specialist workshop.
