FV Challenger, Endeavour & Voyager
When the Western Sea Fishing Co. inc. chose to convert 3 vessels to allow them to target pelagic species on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States their natural choice was EK Marine Ltd for the modification of the hydraulic systems and the installation of new deck equipment.
EK Marine’s engineers carried out the conversion work at the Boconco Shipyard in La Batre, Alabama supported by the stores and engineering department in Killybegs, County Donegal Ireland.

The Western Seafishing Company Inc. based in Gloucester Massachusetts purchased 3 existing vessels to convert into RSW vessels to target the Pelagic species on the eastern Seaboard of the United States, fishing from the US Canadian boundry south to the Carolinas.
The FV Challenger and Endeavour were 149′ long scallop beam trawlers whilst the Voyager was a 140′ long 2400 Hp seismic vessel. The conversions were carried out at the Boconco Shipyard Alabama with the modification of the hydraulic systems and installation of new hydraulic deck equipment entrusted to EK Marine Ltd.
